A letter to a bestfriend who left to abroad, by a girl that struggles to let her best friend go. Continue reading To the Bestfriend that went abroad – Nothing ever changed
This is a short poem written from the point of view of a girl that is finally growing up and how understanding the cliche’s of the world aren’t actual realities. How loving yourself is alot more important than finding someone to love you.
I hope you enjoy it!
As a kidI believed in fairytalesWhere a prince would rescue meAnd I would heal himBut reality struck hardAnd no one came to save meI got sick of playing the victimAnd got myself out of the tall palaceAs a kidI believed in fairytalesWhere a prince would injure himselfAnd I would heal himBut reality struck hardAnd I realised the prince isn’t the only one with scars,That I cannot heal anythingAnd He didnt want to always be healedMuch less he could never get rid of the scarsNo matter what he took from me
1 st September is Letter Writing Day, on the occasion, I decided to write a letter to my best friend. I hope you all like the post and wish my bestfriend all the best on her journey!
Here We Go!
It’s only two weeks before you leave. Change is coming up ahead, as you know, I’ve always hated change.
Just a few years ago Letters were the only source of communication between two people living far away.
Between you and I, I know that even if we were living in those times of isolation- We’d still make it through the distance without any issues.
I knew that you’ll be leaving soon enough but accepting that fact is a very different thing. What is one supposed to do without their bestfriend? How do you choose clothes for parties and who do you call when you are lonely. I’ll learn soon enough I guess, but then so will you.
Girl friend a.k.a A women’s constant companion, support and a mirror in public places.
Here are some of the answers I got from my girlfriends-
- We need girl friendships because now is the time we are speaking out, breaking the rules and standing strong. Women were always badasses and we always fought but it is now that our efforts are being seen and heard. So we need to fight harder, together.
- We need girl friendships because right now, is the perfect time to hold hands and pull each other up. It’s the perfect time to break old clichés that we were taught about hate, scratching and pulling each other down. And should finally, respect each other.
