50 Things I Learnt by the Age of 20 and You Should Too

Things I learnt by the Age of 20 and You Should too!

In our busy lives, we can often forget or fail to recognise the lessons we’ve learnt. To not do that I’ve decided to create a list of my learnings every year. So you and I can both share and learn together.

I do this so that I don’t forget them and hopefully help you ponder over some lessons that I’ve learnt.

These are the lessons that I don’t want to forget I’ve learnt.

These are the lessons that I don’t want to forget I’ve learnt.

I turned 21 this year (Yes! I have no clue how either.) However, 20 was an age where I honestly didn’t have time to breathe or grasp onto reality. I was always pushing for more, I was always climbing higher or failing miserably. So I didn’t have to face the demons that were following me.

I neatly packed them in my bag and kept carrying them around. The bag is getting heavy though and the road ahead is steep. It’s time to face the things I’ve hidden from.

This running taught me a lot, though. I hope you read through this list and ponder over them. I hope you don’t make the same mistakes I did, if you do I hope you find some comfort in the fact that you aren’t alone.

The Reasons I Don’t believe in fairytales. (A relatable poem)

This is a short poem written from the point of view of a girl that is finally growing up and how understanding the cliche’s of the world aren’t actual realities. How loving yourself is alot more important than finding someone to love you.

I hope you enjoy it!

sakshi 1 FINAL NEW WIDE

As a kid
I believed in fairytales
Where a prince would rescue me
And I would heal him
But reality struck hard
And no one came to save me
I got sick of playing the victim
And got myself out of the tall palace
As a kid
I believed in fairytales
Where a prince would injure himself
And I would heal him
But reality struck hard
And I realised the prince isn’t the only one with scars,
That I cannot heal anything
And He didnt want to always be healed
Much less he could never get rid of the scars
No matter what he took from me

To the Bestfriend, leaving to go abroad- Go get your dreams!

1 st September is Letter Writing Day, on the occasion,  I decided to write a letter to my best friend. I hope you all like the post and wish my bestfriend all the best on her journey!

Here We Go!

cover-2

Dear Bestfriend,

It’s only two weeks before you leave. Change is coming up ahead, as you know, I’ve always hated change.

Just a few years ago Letters were the only source of communication between two people living far away.

Between you and I, I know that even if we were living in those times of isolation- We’d still make it through the distance without any issues.

I knew that you’ll be leaving soon enough but accepting that fact is a very different thing. What is one supposed to do without their bestfriend? How do you choose clothes for parties and who do you call when you are lonely. I’ll learn soon enough I guess, but then so will you.

A quick poem about a Love in Spring

cover_wordpress

A short love poem that didn’t evolve the way I thought it would. Losing someone when you thought they will be there is just another experience. It takes away your trust in things and people. It’s okay though you grow up and learn from this. You now understand better who to trust and who not to.

Hope you like it!

In spring I met him

He loved my laugh

And asked me for coffee

In summer we cuddled on his bed

While the screen played some random movie

In fall my life started falling apart

My smile weaken and my eyes lost their shine

And through I tried to battle

with all my might
